I first started using clouds as a reference to theatrical, exaggerated “other worlds”, a surreal dreamscape for the imagination and destinations that do not exist. The ever changing, surreal, intangible formations suggest impermanence and uncertainty. This is how I arrived at the title, “Venus: Ozone Series" The surface color, pattern and texture of planet Venus is in a constant state of flux. Most recently, the work of Neo Classical artists like Antoine Castellan, who’s small drawings of soft puffy clouds seems to suggest the smoke of a burning revolution. It is this kind of misconception and contrast of darkness and beauty that I find to be most engaging about a cloudscape.
